CARE (Child Abuse Resource Education), CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program), Homeless Prevention, and RYDE Transit

 

CARE (Child Abuse Resource Education) 

Mission:  The mission of the Child Abuse Resource and Education Program is to provide education, resource, and support to individuals, families, schools, and agencies for the purpose of preventing abuse, neglect, and violence toward children.

 

Service Area:  Adams county

Programs/Services Provided:

The Child Abuse Resource and Education program facilitates "Happy Bear" and "Bullying Prevention" presentation in the area served by the United Way of South Central Nebraska.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides supplemental foods and nutritional information along with referrals to other agencies that may be of help to the income eligible patrons of our service area.

The Homeless Prevention Program provides individual case management dealing with personal finances, homeless prevention assistance, free income tax preparation, Child Abuse Prevention program, Commodity Supplemental Food program, food bank services, weatherization, transportation, and Women Infants and Children (WIC) program.

RYDE Transit

Mission:   The mission of RYDE Transit is to provide the best transporation available to anyone with a need.

RYDE Transit provides public transportation to all citizens of Adams County and Hastings at affordable rates.

How United Way Funds are used:  The United Way provides funding for affordable housing, community services, case management, homeless prevention assistance, volunteer income tax preparation, child abuse prevention, commodity supplemental food program, food bank, Head Start, health services, small business development, weatherization, transportation, and the Woman Infants and Children (WIC) program.
