Programs/Services Provided:

Senior Action, Inc. provides Meals on Wheels to people within the city limits of Hastings, connects people 55 and older with volunteer opportunities in Adams and Webster counties through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and partners with schools, Head Start programs and non-profit child care centers to place Floser Grand Parents.

How United Way Funds are used:  United Way funds are used to assist with the Meals on Wheels and Foster Grandparent programs. Without this funding, Senior Action would not be unable to provide meals to clients at an affordable cost and students would not receive one-on-one tutoring through our program.

Meals on Wheels:

Provides participants 1/2 the daily food requirements, 5 days a week, friendly volunteers to check on client, connection to the ouside community for the homebound, and reassurance to family members of participants.

Impact Area:  Health

Foster Grandparent Program:

The mission of the program is to serve at-risk children and youth in the service area while improving the quality of participating low-income seniors.

Impact Area:  Education
