The 4th Annual Give Hastings Day is on Thursday, May 11th!

This is a 24-hour online giving event to celebrate and support outstanding nonprofits in Hastings and Adams County! The Hastings Community Foundation sponsors Give Hastings Day each year, providing a hub for community support.

You can give on Thursday, May 11th from midnight to midnight. Generous sponsors provide challenge funds and prize money, making your gifts do even more to make our community an even stronger, more vibrant place to live.

Visit www.givehastings.org and give to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library was incorporated in the Adams, Nuckolls, Clay, and Webster counties in 2013. The program inspires a love of reading by guaranteeing that all children enrolled will have quality books in the home. At no cost to the family, an age-appropriate book is mailed monthly directly to the child from enrollment to their fifth birthday.

Countless studies tout the relationship between early literacy and school performance. Over 750 children in our four-county area are currently receiving a book on a monthly basis. The literacy rate in our four-county area has consistently risen over the last 4 years. By providing the children of our community with twelve quality, age-appropriate books each year, we seek to continue the improvement of the overall literacy rate of our four-county service area.
